Packaging is a term that most people don’t think about when they’re shopping. Packages are used for everything from cereal to electronics and cosmetics. It is a necessity in the modern world. It protects our items from damage and it keeps them clean for when we get to use them.

Products are packaged in different ways based on what type of product they are, how it will be shipped, and where the product will be sold. Packaging can also dictate if a customer chooses to buy that particular product or not. For instance, some customers may choose to buy an item because it is made with recycled materials or has less packaging than other products on the shelf

Thus, there’s more than one kind of packaging too, which can be confusing if you’ve never looked into it before. This article will cover the different types of packaging products and their uses so you know what to look for next time you go grocery shopping or buy something online!

Types of Packaging Products

  1. Primary Packaging — This basically consists of products that directly come in contact with the actual product.
  2. Plastic Containers — Plastic containers include everything from plastic bottles, to disposable food containers, to reusable containers and they are cheap.
  3. Parchment Paper — It is a cellulose-based paper that is commonly used in baking. This is also known as baking paper or bakery paper.
  4. Monocartons — They are simple boxes that are made from paperboard.
  5. Composite Cans — These are made from multiple layers that provide rigidity and certain barrier properties.
  6. Paper-foil Laminate — It is paper laminated with aluminum foil. The paper and the foil have complementary properties.
  7. Wet Strength Paper — It is the most commonly used type of packaging. Wet strength paper is a type of paper that has high resistance to being ruptured or torn when it is wet.

As most paper manufacturing companies tend to take a step towards a sustainable future, and thus paper packaging has become quite a trend among all the packaging product types.
